william permar

william permar lived in tuckahoe hundred area in caroline county, md., in the 1700's. he died in 1779.
william's son james and grandson james, jr stayed on thefarm from 1777-1820. all members left the area for some reason and in 1830 were farming in middletown twp, delaware county, pa. henry, son of james.
they continued to farm in this area in the 1870's and were good farmers and large farm producers in delaware county for some time. when william died in 1779 his second wife remarried and moved with son, john to ohio. this were john permar established the permar line in ohio.

They left because Philip and Henry's mother died in 1824. The farm was gone. I have Rachel Permar's will. (who died 1824, wife of James)Henry Permar, oldest son, was already established in Middletown Delaware County. His son Henry was more successful and had the farm which is now the Delaware County Prison Farm.
