My Permar family has the same legend, only it was three brothers, and they came from France (perhaps by way of England). One settled in Pennsylvania, where there are still many Permars, one went to Ohio, and no one is quite sure about the other one. It is such a rare name that I suspect that there is a connection. We have traced our Permars back to Henry Permar, born in 1777, but we can't verify where or trace his parents. Any new info would be helpful. Let me know if you would like to communicate. JPERMAR
